HURRICANE, W.Va. –Some broadband expansion is coming to the Teays Valley area.
Comcast announced Tuesday they will be connecting more than 7,500 new homes and businesses to high-speed symmetrical internet with Xfinity.
This expansion includes Hurricane and Scot Depot. Hurricane residents will see more than 5,000 homes and businesses connect with the first addresses serviceable in early 2026. Scott Depot will see more than 2,500, with services already available to some residents.
“It’s awesome to see Comcast investing in Hurricane and expanding its network to even more homes and businesses in our community,” Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards said. “This investment will help residents in today’s technology-driven world, and it makes our area an even better place to live and work.”
Comcast said the entire projects is expected to be completed in 2028.
Along with Hurricane and Scott Depot, construction is also underway in Princeton to connect more than 5,000 homes and businesses.
