Renewable projects contributed 1,272 MW to the latest additions.
India’s JSW Energy has commissioned 1,572 megawatts (MW) of generation capacity since April, taking its total operational capacity to 15,025 MW and crossing the 15-gigawatt (GW) milestone.
The company crossed 10 GW in March 2025, representing a compound annual growth rate of about 26%.
Renewables accounted for 1,272 MW of the capacity added since April, comprising 593 MW of solar, 108 MW of wind, 420 MW of hybrid, and 150 MW of hydro.
The remaining 300 MW came from inorganic thermal capacity.
Renewable energy dominates the company’s operational portfolio at 9,067 MW, comprising 3,125 MW of wind, 2,426 MW of solar, 1,735 MW of hybrid, and 1,781 MW of hydro capacity.
Its thermal portfolio stands at 5,958 MW.
“The Company remains on track to meet its greenfield capacity addition target of 3GW for FY2027, having achieved approximately 42% of the target to date,” it added.
JSW Energy has 32.4 GW of total locked-in generation capacity, including 15 GW operational and 13.4 GW under construction across thermal, hydro, and renewable projects. It also has a 4-GW pipeline.
Its locked-in energy storage capacity stands at 29.6 gigawatt-hours (GWh), comprising 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage.
JSW Energy is targeting 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030, as well as carbon neutrality by 2050.
