Emmy Award nominee Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale, You) will star as Rose-Lynn Harlan in the new musical adaptation of Wild Rose off Broadway, running at New York Theatre Workshop from November 24 to January 10. Opening night is December 14.

Brewer made her NYC stage debut in Little Shop of Horrors in fall 2025, going on to star in The Disappear off Broadway and Becky Shaw on Broadway. In Wild Rose, she plays the role originated by Jessie Buckley in the same-named film about a Scottish woman who dreams of leaving behind her checkered past and becoming a country music star in America.

The Wild Rose musical has a book by Nicole Taylor, the BAFTA-winning writer of the original film, and a score composed of country songs from artists like Wynonna Judd, Chris Stapleton, and The Chicks, alongside the film’s award-winning original song “Glasgow (No Place Like Home).”

The creative team also includes director John Tiffany, choreographers Steven Hoggett and Vicki Manderson, and music supervisors Sarah Travis and Nadia DiGiallonardo.

The musical previously had its world premiere at Scotland’s Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh in 2025.
