Job action by nearly 14,000 health care workers in Saskatchewan is looming, after an overwhelming vote and the latest government offer the union says is “inadequate.”

Unionized health care workers voted 99 per cent in favour of job action, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) announced on Tuesday. According to CUPE 5430, a total of 13,358 votes were cast between Sept. 8-14 on the question of whether to strike.

The decision was made after “three years of stalling and concessionary demands,” CUPE 5430 said in a statement.
