Tragedy struck in Los Angeles over the weekend, with news that Presley Gerber, the son of iconic model, actress, and television personality Cindy Crawford, has died, according to a report from TMZ.

He was just 27 years old. Presley’s death was confirmed by Crawford’s husband, Rande Gerber, and their daughter Kaia. Presley was the only son of Crawford and Gerber.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Presley died at a rehab facility on Sunday. An official cause of death is pending his autopsy.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” a family rep said in a statement.

Who is Presley Gerber?

Presley has battled mental health and drug abuse issues over the years, and was open about his struggles. Late last year, Presley discussed his mental health struggles in a since-deleted post on social media.

“I don’t know if it’s a little bit or a lot, who f–king knows at this point anymore,” he wrote on Instagram at the time, via parade. “The doctors say a lot of different things, so it’s kind of scary, but hopefully between my research and their research … and God, we can figure this out. The things that scare me are the things you need to take … if you don’t take them, something not good happens. And there’s a spectrum there on how intense the withdrawal from certain medications is.

“Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently. So that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now. I’ve grown up in Hollywood, and there’s a lot of people around me that I love to death, but right now I try not to be around them.”

Our deepest condolences go out to Gerber’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.
