Paige Spiranac appears to support Sydney Sweeney‘s recent ad.
The former professional golfer, 33, recently posted an Instagram carousel with photos of herself, including some taken at golf events, a gym selfie, two snaps in a bathing suit and more.
“Summer fun☀️👙⛳️,” the model captioned her post.
Fans took to the comment section, drawing parallels to the Euphoria alum’s campaign for sports prediction market Novig, where Sweeney, 29, posed without clothes, opting for sporting equipment covering certain parts of her body. In the video ad, which was released on social media last week, Sweeney repeated the phrase “just sports.”
“@_paige.renee and to think they said Sweeney was killing women’s sports?! Paige said……HOLD MY BEER 😂,” one fan commented, to which Spiranac responded, “god forbid a woman loves her nice cans.”
“I think saying nothing is appropriate,” a second wrote. “Because everything else has already been said in the comments 😂”
“Nice cans is always encouraged,” the influencer replied.
“Her and Sweeney ‘just sports’ ad is going to go nuclear,” a third added to which Spiranac commented back, “just golf.”
While Spiranac seems on board with the ad, Sweeney has drawn backlash from many female athletes.
Former gymnast Gracie Kramer posted an Instagram Reel of herself competing in gymnastics, playing soccer, doing water sports, and more, writing, “idk what Sydney Sweeney was doing, but this is what a woman in sports looks like.”
“Because it really is that deep,” the NCAA champion captioned the post.
In response to the criticism, Sweeney posted photos of multiple covers from ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue” on her Instagram story, according to ABC News. The magazines showed athletes posing with little to no clothes.
