Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI), Elbit Systems and several other Israeli defense companies are heading to the Marrakech Air Show, where they will showcase a wide range of technologies for air defense, precision strike, unmanned systems and space.
According to a report published by The Jerusalem Post, the move is intended to strengthen Israel’s position in a market long dominated by defense companies from the United States and France. Israeli companies, which were prevented from displaying their systems in France behind black walls, will now showcase their capabilities in Marrakech, in a market where French companies remain major players.
According to The Jerusalem Post, IAI, Elbit Systems, Rafael, XTEND, Shilat, Uvision and Orbit Technologies will officially participate in the Moroccan exhibition for the first time. The event will take place at the Royal Moroccan Air Force base in Marrakech from October 7–10, although details have not yet been released on what the other companies will display beyond the two major defense firms.
Morocco maintains close military, diplomatic and economic ties with Israel. Relations were renewed in 2020 under the Abraham Accords.
A year later, the countries signed a memorandum of understanding covering arms deals, intelligence cooperation and joint military projects. Morocco has since significantly increased its defense budget as part of efforts to modernize its armed forces and build a domestic defense industry to reduce its dependence on imports. In January, the two countries signed a joint military work plan for 2026 and agreed to upgrade their diplomatic relations.
