Following the brand’s recent announcement of the Xbox Cozy Collection peripherals, 8BitDo has once again partnered with Xbox on the new Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary collection. The 30th Anniversary Tomb Raider collection consists of special versions of the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox and the Pro Bluetooth Gamepad, featuring artwork and tactile touches inspired by the Tomb Raider game series.
Both controllers pay homage to Lara Croft, but the Pro 3 Gamepad is a direct tribute to the original Tomb Raider, and the Lost Valley level specifically, whereas the Ultimate 3 controller features livery celebrating both the old and new interpretations of the character and story. The Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad is available for $79.99 on the 8BitDo store and Amazon, while the Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition Ultimate 3 Controller comes in at $119.99 on the 8BitDo store exclusively. Both controllers will start shipping on October 24.
Internally, not much has changed from the regular 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth and Ultimate 3—both still offer the typical 8BitDo customizable look and feel. The Pro 3 still features TMR joysticks and Hall-effect triggers, and it has swappable, magnetic ABXY toppers, multiplatform compatibility, and six-axis motion control. The Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition also has green and gold joystick toppers to match the Tomb Raider theme. The Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Ultimate 3 Controller, on the other hand, has 2.4 GHz connectivity with dongle storage built into the charging dock, TMR joysticks with adjustable tension, dual-stop Hall-effect triggers, additional L4 and R4 bumpers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio passthrough, and six-axis motion control on PC.
