Presley Gerber‘s parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, were reportedly unaware of their son’s decision to enter into treatment at Resolutions Living in Santa Monica, Calif.
Sources with direct knowledge of Presley’s death told TMZ that Cindy and Rande wouldn’t have wanted their son to admit himself to the luxury-living rehab. In TMZ’s report, the outlet stated, “they [Cindy and Rande] didn’t know he was going to this specific center and would never have approved of it.” It was also noted by a source that Presley’s parents and his sister, Kaia Gerber, recently discussed the 27-year-old seeking treatment before his personal team made the decision to admit him on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Resolutions Living is reportedly not required to be licensed in the state of California to function as an outpatient sober living home. According to the California Department of Health Care Services, because the rehab facility doesn’t treat patients for medical detox with certified medical professionals, they can operate as transitional housing, NBC reported.
Reza Nabavi, the founder of Resolutions Therapeutic Services, had his registered psychologist license temporarily revoked in 2006, according to state records, Page Six reported. At the time, Nabavi the California Board of Psychology ordered Nabavi a strict five-year probationary settlement following a 2002 misdemeanor drug possession conviction.

Sources told TMZ that before transitional living, Presley should have been admitted to a medical detox facility, where patients are checked by care providers every 15 to 39 minutes.
While at Resolutions Living, Presley bunked in a building separate from the main facility. He checked into rehab the night before his death on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 25. Sources told TMZ that when Presley was admitted, he appeared intoxicated. The following morning, he was found unresponsive in his room before a 911 call was dispatched at 9:35 a.m.
Although the medical examiner completed Presley’s autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined. While he is suspected to have died from cardiac arrest, as a result of a drug overdose, Presley’s autopsy was deferred and will likely take several months before additional resources are utilized to determine a cause of death.
