A Reddit user conducted a technical experiment to transfer the Lossless Scaling frame generation technology Frame Generation on the Android mobile operating system. The enthusiast used the utility’s algorithms to improve the smoothness of standard video content during multimedia playback, rather than in gaming projects. The hardware platform was a mobile device powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which proved sufficient for the resource-intensive mathematical interpolation calculations.

During the demonstration, the author played the series at a standard cinematic frame rate of 24 FPS. With LSFG algorithms enabled, the final display rate on the mobile device reached 121 FPS, representing a fivefold increase in the smoothness of dynamic scenes. According to the experiment’s author, the resulting image demonstrates stable motion transfer without critical lag or noticeable scaling artifacts, exceeding the initial expectations of the algorithm’s performance.

The practical implementation generated active discussion among mobile device users and community members. The audience’s primary interest focused on the potential for large-scale implementation of intermediate frame generation algorithms in portable media players without significantly increasing the chipset’s heat output or reducing its energy efficiency. The experiment confirmed the potential of modern mobile SoCs for processing video stream smoothing algorithms in real time.
