Four-time Olympic champion Léon Marchand returns to competition this weekend at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup (10–12 October) in Carmel, Indiana, the first of three short-course stops in North America.

The French superstar is entered in seven events over the three-day meet, including both the 100m and 200m individual medley. Marchand comes in as the world champion in the 200m IM following the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, where he set a world record (1:52.69) during semi-finals of the long course version. Marchand also won the 400m IM in Singapore, an event in which he is also the Olympic champion, but he is not entered in Carmel.

Marchand’s ambitious program also includes the 200m breaststroke, another of his Olympic gold medal wins, along with the 200m backstroke and a trio of freestyle races: the 100m, 200m, and 400m.

Fans can look forward to three days of action from the 23-year-old, beginning with the 400m freestyle to kick things off on Friday and wrapping up with the 200m breaststroke on Sunday.
