An instructor says this technology is far different than what she used when she was learning.

“I can tell you when I learned, my first time listening to lung sounds was on a real patient, so you don’t know what you’re listening to,” said BSN program coordinator Dr. Chelsea Clark. “When I learned, I started an IV on an orange, not on an arm that actually gives blood return. So, they really have a huge advantage of having real-life scenarios before they step into the real world.”

The South College-Asheville students have been working with the “manikins” for four months.
