At this point, you’d probably know that there’s likely going to be four Galaxy S27 models. These will likely be the Galaxy S27 Ultra, Galaxy S27 Pro, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27. All four have passed through yet another key regulatory database. As expected, the certification also reveals an interesting detail.
The Galaxy S27 series phones have appeared in China’s MIIT database with model numbers SM-S9580, SM-S9570, SM-S9560, and SM-S9520, respectively. The listings confirm support for cellular connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, but there’s a difference when it comes to Ultra-Wideband (UWB).
Could the Galaxy S27+ miss out on UWB?
The Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro are listed with UWB support, while the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ documents don’t mention the technology. This is particularly odd for the Plus model, as Samsung has included UWB in its Plus phones since the Galaxy S21+.

UWB enables more precise location tracking than Bluetooth and is useful for finding compatible devices and accessories, including Galaxy SmartTags. So, could Samsung actually drop the feature from the Galaxy S27+?
It’s too early to say. The MIIT listings only tell us what the submitted certification documents specify. They don’t confirm whether the Galaxy S27+ will lack UWB hardware or whether the omission is limited to these Chinese-market filings.
Apart from UWB, there’s not much to go on in these certification listings. They mainly focus on wireless connectivity and regulatory compliance, leaving out key details such as the phones’ cameras, displays, batteries, and processors.
Several key specs, especially those concerning the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro, have already surfaced. However, there’s nothing in these documents to confirm those details. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what else comes to light.
