French brandy St-Rémy has released a limited edition XO bottle to celebrate its 140th anniversary this year.
St-Rémy master blender Cécile Roudaut met with Pierre Brault in the brand’s vineyards
The Rémy Cointreau-owned brand has teamed up with French plexiglass artist Pierre Brault on the new design.
Brault crafted his design after a masterclass conducted by St-Rémy master blender Cécile Roudaut.
Using his signature style of blending shapes, light and colours, Brault sought to capture the heritage, craftsmanship and terroir behind the French brandy.
“Working with St-Rémy has been a true source of inspiration, not only for the values we share around respect for nature and time, but also through my encounter with Cécile Roudaut,” said Brault.
“Her meticulous art of blending, where precision and intuition meet, resonates deeply with my own approach. What struck me most is St-Rémy’s genuine connection to the land, and the way every blend is guided by respect for the living world.”
The plexiglass artwork – reminiscent of a sundial – was inspired by St-Rémy’s sunlit French vineyards.
“The sun became the guiding theme of my creation,” Brault explained. “Using recycled plexiglass to capture its light, I sought to design a work that evolves with the day: a living metaphor for what St-Rémy has been doing for 140 years: elevating nature’s gifts with patience and mastery.”
Meanwhile, the use of recycled plexiglass is said to reflect St-Rémy’s commitment to sustainability.
The Cognac itself has notes of wood and vanilla, with flavours of gingerbread, candied apricots, dates, figs, and nuts.
The 140th-anniversary release is the latest in a series of annual artist collaborations for St-Rémy.
According to the brand, last year’s creation with French visual artist Tomalater helped St-Rémy XO deliver the strongest growth of any brandy outside Cognac over Christmas in the UK. The product’s volume sales rose by 16.2%, and value increased by 13.7%, outperforming the brandy category and gaining share, based on Nielsen RMS Great Britain data for the 12 weeks to 3 January 2026.
Eliza Stevenson, senior brand manager at Rémy Martin UK, added: “Christmas is the most competitive time of year for brandy, and standing out on shelf is essential.
“Our artist limited edition collections catch the attention of shoppers and consistently help us grow market share.”
The new design will be boosted by a social media campaign, off-trade activation and point-of-sale materials.
The 140th Anniversary Artist Limited Edition is available in the UK for £25 (US$33), with more than 138,000 bottles on the market globally.
