Caleb Freundlich, son of the Julianne Moore, and Kibriyaá Morgan got married at a boutique hotel in upstate New York earlier this month. After taking a peek at the photos posted by the New York Times earlier this week, I don’t think I’ve ever been more jealous of a pair of 28-year-olds.

On October 8, Freundlich and Morgan kicked off their wedding weekend with a courthouse ceremony at Brooklyn Borough Hall, followed by another ceremony and reception in Beacon, New York. It rained, but the couple didn’t mind — the stormy skies apparently reminded them of the night they got engaged. (Also, they booked an indoor venue.)

According to their guests, Freundlich and Morgan are known as the life of the party, and that was certainly reflected in the energy of the event. At one point, Freundlich, a musician, stopped to serenade his wife with the song he wrote for her called “Ours.” (I know.) The “Wobble” kicked off a night of dancing, which was followed by an after-party and an after-after-party, where the couple and their friends sat on the floor of a hotel suite and ate snacks and watched Bravo.

Moore has apparently played a major role in this relationship — Freundlich and Morgan ran in the same orbit growing up in New York but didn’t officially meet until they were both freshmen at Davidson College in North Carolina. Moore actually met her daughter-in-law first, when Morgan was a student at New York’s Chapin High School, where Moore later enrolled her younger daughter. Morgan’s charm apparently left an impression, and Moore sang her praises to her son.

Later, when Freundlich discovered he and Morgan would be attending the same college, he decided to look up the girl who had won over his mother. “I saw that she was a baddie and played basketball,” he told the New York Times.

During her toast, Moore said of the newlyweds, “They have seen one another through college, COVID, early adulthood, career changes, their first apartment, their second apartment, Ben the cat! They’ve forged their partnership as teenagers and grown up together. I marvel at their commitment, and I celebrate their love.” I’m crying, and I wasn’t even there!
