The IDF was dispatched to an area near the village of Jalud in Area B of the West Bank on Saturday to evacuate Israeli citizens when a fire broke out at the scene, the military stated on Sunday.
The circumstances of the fire are still under investigation, according to the military.
Early on Sunday, the IDF announced a “ban on the entry and exit of Palestinian workers throughout Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, including industrial zones, as well as the closure of all land crossings” during Israel’s general elections on Tuesday.
The IDF and the Shin Bet are investigating whether the two terrorists were part of a small self-contained cell or whether their vast ammunition shows that they were connected to a larger terror cell.
According to the IDF, some 40 suspects were apprehended over the weekend, including people affiliated with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and suspects involved in “incitement, public disorder, and rock-hurling.”
Meanwhile, the IDF engaged in planned training exercises in the West Bank for the Judea and Samaria Division to test operational readiness and alertness, the military announced on Sunday.
It also said it would increase the movement of security forces, aircraft, and vehicles.
