Cha Cha’s Chicken is now open in Cedarhurst, NY, in the Five Towns storefront that Chickies called home for nearly five years. The Chickies owners sold the Long Island location to new owners, who are keeping the same chicken shop concept while adding items of their own.
From Chickies to Cha Cha’s
Chickies sold the Cedarhurst store as the company focuses on its other locations and business opportunities. The shop keeps the same phone number, and much of the Chickies menu carries over to the new name.
Chickies opened on Central Avenue in December 2021, replacing Qcumbers Cafe, and YeahThatsKosher covered the opening at the time. Chickies began as a Teaneck, NJ shop that the Hason family opened in 2005, and the Mozorosky family took it over in 2018 and grew it into several locations.
The Menu at Cha Cha’s Chicken
The menu keeps the Chickies lineup of schnitzel sandwiches, wraps and fried chicken sides, and adds new items. Starters include Chicken Rollers ($14.99), a choice of seasoned ground chicken kabob, grilled chicken tenders or crispy schnitzel strips with Cha Cha’s sauce rolled in a flour tortilla, plus arayes stuffed with seasoned ground chicken ($14.99), pastrami egg rolls ($13.99), soft-shell tacos with chipotle chicken or seasoned beef ($16.99), wings in four sauces, Cajun corn ribs ($11.99) and fully loaded nachos. Sandwiches and wraps run $12.99 to $14.99 and include Cha Cha’s Crispy Schnitzel, the Spicy Cha Cha with jalapeño mayo, the Little Italy Crunch with homemade pesto, the BBQ King, the Hot Chick Express and a chicken shawarma wrap. The grilled chicken tenders are still marinated in the Chickies West Englewood rub. A Little Cha Cha’s kids box pairs nuggets, chicken fingers, a hot dog or mini burger sliders with fries, a juice box and a prize ($14.99). A dedicated gluten-free section covers popcorn chicken, poppers, chicken fingers, grilled tenders, fries and a gluten-free sandwich.
Where Chickies Continues
Chickies continues to operate its other locations in New Jersey and New York. At Madison Square Garden, the Chickies stand serves Knicks and Rangers games and concerts.
