Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) is casting a dark influence over his son Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) in Coronation Street.
A lot has happened since the prison guard arrived in Weatherfield.
He firstly came face-to-face with Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) for the first time in over 40 years, and she bravely told her family that he is a paedophile, who paid her for sex when she was a teenager.
His new romance Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) was sickened, while son Tyrone was left wondering who to believe. Ross insisted that he had no idea of Cassie’s age, and that he’d been peer-pressured into sleeping with her by his army mates.
In a bizarre twist, Tyrone decided to remain in contact, and Ross dealt a troubling warning to Cassie, saying he’d kill her if she tried to ruin their relationship.

Just days later, he drove her out of the area and she was never seen again.
While Ross has slipped under the radar in recent weeks, though one particularly troubling comment about the domestic abuse that Ty faced at the hands of his ex-fiancée Kirsty Soames stirred some tension in the Dobbs household.
Last week, he tried to rope Tyrone and grandson Dorin Pop (Henry Meller) into joining a boxing club, and was frustrated by their lack of enthusiasm. When granddaughter Ruby (Billie Naylor) expressed an interest, Ross insisted that it was a man’s sport and tried to play off his misogyny as concern for the teenager.
In today’s episode, Tyrone discovered a bruise on Dorin’s arm – which had been inflicted by the youngster’s cousin Aled Winter-Brown (Joseph Woods).

Ross goaded him into confronting Aled’s parents, Gemma and Chesney (Dolly-Rose Campbell and Sam Aston), though the polite conversation that Tyrone had in mind didn’t go to plan. At No. 5, he purposely amplified tensions between the men.
Tyrone was desperate to prove that he wasn’t a pushover and punched Chesney, with Gemma ordering the men to get out of her house.

Fiz was sickened to hear that her husband had attacked her brother, and accused Ross of encouraging him to act out of character. Gemma and Chesney, meanwhile, could see that Tyrone had only behaved in such a way to try and impress his estranged dad.
Later, in the Rovers, Ross tried to reassure Tyrone that he did the right thing. Fiz walked in just as they clinked glasses, seemingly celebrating their ‘win’.
Seeing a look of horror washed across her face, Ross grinned and told his son not to let anyone boss him around – especially not Fiz.
Will Tyrone see Ross’s true colours?
