After October 7, years of corruption and attacks on democracy, Tuesday’s election offers Israelis a chance to hold Netanyahu accountable at the ballot box

On Tuesday, Israelis must submit the bill to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his years in power, and exact a price at the polling station for his failures, his abandonment and the harm he has done to their security, to their future and to their country’s resilience. It’s hard to believe that this government, on whose watch the worst security failure and the greatest disaster in the country’s history occurred, has finished its full term. It’s hard to swallow that it didn’t resign in shame of its own accord, nor was it forced to resign by mass protests.
