Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party condemned a protest in which supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government accused the party leader of having murdered his own son, Gal, who was killed in the war in Gaza.

“The pathetic attack outside the home of party leader Gadi Eisenkot is the direct result of a rotten and uninhibited political leadership – one that erased red lines just to stay in power,” Yashar’s statement said.

In footage shared on social media, Netanyahu supporters gathered outside Eisenkot’s home on Sunday are heard chanting, “Traitor! Traitor!” and one protester repeatedly shouts, “You murdered your son!”

Eisenkot, a former IDF chief and Gaza war cabinet observer who now heads the camp seeking to oust Netanyahu, lost his son, Gal, and two nephews in the war. Gal Eisenkot was killed during a hostage rescue operation in December 2023.

“This is the spirit blowing from Netanyahu’s office, and it is further proof of the immediate obligation to replace his government as soon as possible – for the sake of the State of Israel and Israeli society,” Yashar’s statement said.
