Here’s a look at the numbers in detail for each:
Granules India
The company reported steady revenue growth in the second quarter, but its margins softened sequentially.
Its revenue from North America was at 72% of overall sales compared 76% last year, while Europe contributed to 16% of the overall topline from 12% last year.
At 20%, Granules India reported healthy topline growth but margins at 21% remained flat from last year, but were lower from the June quarter.
Analysts have cited signs of softening growth in Granules India’s US formulations business. That slowdown in growth is compensated by Europe’s active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and rest of world businesses.
As per the Granules management, 11 observations from the US drug regulator are procedural in natural and addressable at its Gagillapur plant. But with the approvals from the facility likely to be further delayed, US growth is likely to remain muted for two to three more quarters.
The management added that the pipeline for the US market is robust with complex limited-competition products. It said some products have been transferred to the newer Genome Valley facility from Gagillapur.
The company’s finished dosages were 73% of sales, API was 13%, pharma formulation intermediates were 10% and peptides were 3% of sales.
Granules India is targeting launching five new products in the US market in the second half of the financial year 2027.
The company’s reported a net cash position of ₹828 crore compared to a net debt of ₹101.2 crore in the previous quarter.
