Blackpink’s Jisoo and former One Direction member Zayn Malik’s love ballad Eyes Closed has already started breaking records. The latest single which had its official release on October 10, has impressed listeners for its vocals and visuals. And while the track continues to trend, it is already topping charts.

As per reports, Eyes Closed debuted at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes song chart. The following rankings were held by tracks by HUNTR/X and Sajay Boys from KPop Demon Hunters, Taylor Swift and Madonna, among others. It even broke the record for biggest 24-hour debut for a duet on YouTube for 2025. Till the time of writing this article, it clocked 10.5 million views.

After days of teasing fans with the posters, audio clips and even videos of Eyes Closed, the full version of the song was finally dropped by Jisoo’s Blissoo label and Warner Records on October 10, and it took no time for the MV to go viral on social media. Posed in a cosmic setup, it depicts two space travellers in an intergalactic atmosphere falling in love. From their look to attire, everything is in sync with the mood of the video.
Eyes Closed is ‘perfection’
Jisoo revealed through her Instagram stories that Eyes Closed has also made it to the Times Square in New York. A fan wrote on X, “the visuals, the vocals, the numbers….perfection is exhausting.” Another one said, “I’m not exaggerating when I say this is song of the year. Genuinely feels like 2015-2018 EDM/pop stuff and just takes me back. Jisoo and zayn vocals compliment each other so well.” One fan reacted, “An absolute banger a song for the ages!! A great day to be a Jisoo and Zayn fan.”

Speaking about her experience, Jisoo shared her excitement and nervousness about working with Zayn, calling him an “amazing artist.” She said, “I hope you all listen to it quickly and like it 🙂 It’s my first time doing a duet like this! I was so nervous and excited, but I was so happy to be able to do it with such an amazing artist, Zayn.”
Eyes Closed is Jisoo’s first release since her solo EP, Amortage earlier this year.
