The Mid Kit adds two cage NATO side arms, a Rainbow top handle, a top 15mm rod bracket, and a set of 15mm rods. Lastly, a power distribution box and a right rear bracket are available a la carte, while the company teased an upcoming TASCAM audio adapter mounting bracket. So, let’s take a closer look at all of these bits and pieces!
While preorders for the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55 start on September 15th, third-party accessory manufacturers are already hard at work to propose camera rigging solutions for FUJIFILM’s first cinema camera. If you want to learn more about the GFX ETERNA 55, we had in-depth conversations with John Blackwood from FUJIFILM about all the camera’s features, as well as with cinematographer Oren Soffer, who has shot extensively with the medium-format cinema camera.
So if you are already waiting in line to receive your camera, US-based camera accessories specialist MID49 already has you covered with their entire lineup of attachments for the GFX ETERNA 55.
MID49 Base Kit for the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55
The MID49 Base Kit for the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55 consists of two pieces: a top plate and a baseplate. The top plate itself consists of two pieces and attaches to the camera’s top via no less than six screws!

This design allows you to use the original camera’s top handle if you remove the rear left part of the top plate. The top plate features a plethora of 1/4″-20, 3/8″-16, and M4x20mm mounting points with ARRI-standard locating holes all over the place to attach multiple kinds of accessories to the camera. At the center, you’ll also find an ARCA dovetail clamp to attach a MID49 top handle or gimbal adapter plate for the DJI Ronin 2 or Freefly Mōvi Pro.

The baseline 15mm LW baseplate attaches securely to the bottom of the camera via three 3/8″-16 screws. This baseplate holds two 15mm rods at the correct distance from the center of the lens and features a center 1/4″-20 vertical support post for a lens mount adapter.
At the bottom of the baseplate is an ARRI dovetail slot, allowing for quick attachment, detachment, and balancing of your camera on a tripod or gimbal. The included lower ARRI mounting plate features 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points if you use a quick-release plate different than an ARRI dovetail.
Lastly, there is an ARRI M6 rosette on the right side, as well as an ARCA geometry hidden slot at the bottom, which is compatible with the MID49 Gimbal Bottom ARCA Adapter (DJI S, RS2, RS3, RS4) and the MID49 Gimbal Bottom ARCA Adapter (DJI Ronin 2/Freefly Mōvi Pro).

The Mid Kit adds a couple more accessories to further extend the camera’s usability with two cage NATO side arms, a top 15mm rod bracket, two 6″ 15mm rods, and a rainbow handle.
The cage NATO side arms attach to both sides of the top plate via two 3/8″-16 mounting screws with ARRI locating pins to ensure a secure fit. The cage NATO side arms provide an ARRI Rosette adjustable NATO accessory rail with safety pins on each end, and it also features 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points with accessory pins.

The top 15mm rod bracket is handy to attach two 15mm LWS rods at the front of the camera to add a focus motor or a viewfinder mount. Lastly, the ARCA-Swiss style MID49 Rainbow Handle gives you a bit more versatility compared to the camera’s stock handle. We extensively discussed the Rainbow handle here if you want to learn more about it.

While the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55 features a built-in V-mount battery plate, MID49 released two DB-13 power distribution boxes to expand the camera’s capabilities further. Available in two versions, V-mount or Gold mount, the DB-13 attaches directly to the camera’s V-mount plate.
The power distribution box features two D-Tap, two 3-pin (24V/2.5A with run/stop), two 2-pin, and one USB-C PD (5V/3A) power outputs. Furthermore, it comes with a LANC cable for remote start/stop via a 3-pin Fischer device.

On the left side of the power distribution, there is a 12.5V 4-pin XLR DC input (11-17V) to power your camera and accessories via mains power. When a battery is installed, the DC input takes priority. The DB-13 features a SMART FUSE design to avoid short circuits or current overdraw. As MID49 describes it, “the GFX ETERNA 55 uses approximately 2.0A at 14V, so when using a 10A capable battery, the remaining 8.0A is allocated for accessory use. If an accessory configuration exceeds the 8.0 limit, accessory power is cut off, leaving the camera powered. The “SMART FUSE” LED will illuminate showing the error, and once the configuration has been adjusted to lower than 8.0A, the RESET button can be pressed, and power will be re-enabled to accessory outputs.”
