Bayern Munich midfielder Tom Bischof felt right at home at the club — and maybe because the onboarding process started weeks before he could physically make the move.
“To be honest, the Bayern chapter started a bit earlier. I was still at Hoffenheim, but my transfer had already been announced, when I received a message from Joshua Kimmich. He got my number and simply texted me. He said that when he joined Bayern, he hadn’t played a single Bundesliga game yet – and yet he still believed he could make the move. And that he believed I could do it too. He said he was happy and believed in me. At that moment, I got goosebumps, having been given so much trust in advance,” Bischof told club magazine Säbener51 (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
It really feels like Bischof was destine to play for Bayern Munich.
With Kimmich — a direct competitor for playing in theory — working behind the scenes to let Bischof know he would be welcomed, it took away any edge or apprehension about the transfer.
