It’s no secret that kittens can melt anyone’s heart, but domestic cats aren’t the only ones who can up the cuteness factor. Even wild cats are adorable as babies! For the ‘purr-fect’ proof, look no further than the Chester Zoo’s newest addition.

Meet Behri! This tiny snow leopard cub was born earlier this summer to new mom Nubra, and zookeepers at the UK zoo couldn’t be more thrilled. Her birth was a big moment for snow leopard conservation, but Behri’s biggest moment happened just after her September 4 vet appointment, when her pouty face and huge eyes stole everyone’s breath away.

Could she be any cuter? Those big eyes and tiny tongue are the epitome of sweetness, and it’s safe to say I’m not the only one who thinks so.

“When will she be ready for adoption?” a commenter named Alicia joked. “I’d like to submit an application.” LOL! Even though she’s a wild cat, I have a feeling the line would be around the block just to meet this cutie pie.

Another viewer had the same idea, writing, “If not pet, why pet-shaped?” It’s a cruel trick of nature! Everyone would love to cuddle with this little leopard, but we’ll have to live vicariously through her caretakers and zookeepers instead.

Speaking of zookeepers, kudos to them! Zoo animals like Behri thrive because of them, and they do so much for the conservation of important species like snow leopards.

Are Snow Leopards Endangered?

Thankfully, snow leopards are not yet endangered, but they are considered ‘vulnerable.’ This means there are estimated to be fewer than ten thousand individuals left in the wild. Many conservation programs are in place to help the population increase, which is why every leopard cub like Behri is so important to the species as a whole.

Meanwhile, this tiny cub has no idea how special she is! She’s soaking up every second of cuddles and playtime, just like a baby animal should.
