Sydney Sweeney hasn’t completely ruled out getting her 007 on.

Speaking with Variety ahead of the screening for “Christy” at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the “Euphoria” actor talked shop, responding noncommittally to rumors about being the next “Bond girl” in a future installation of the franchise.

“I can’t. I don’t know,” Sweeney told the outlet in an interview published Oct. 27. “To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors.”

Based on the adventures of a secret agent in the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), the stories centered on the titular character, James Bond. The franchise, which began with Ian Fleming’s first novel, Casino Royale in 1953, has spawned numerous film adaptations featuring a roster of A-list actors, with Daniel Craig as the last incarnation of Agent 007.

Since Craig’s reign as the iconic British spy ended with “No Time to Die” in 2021, execs, most notably Amazon MGM Studios, have been steadfast in their search for a new Bond, who was in the process of being “reinvented.”

A “huge fan” of the franchise, Sweeney is both “excited and curious to see what they do with it.”

Sydney Sweeney on James Bond franchise: ‘Depends on the script’

While the possibility of participating in a future installment certainly has its appeal, the “Anyone but You” star said it ultimately “depends on the script.”

Speculation about Sweeney’s involvement in the franchise began in July, when reports circulated on social media that she was a top contender for the next “Bond girl.”

Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have either been fancast on social media or previously expressed interest in portraying “Bond” since Craig’s departure.

One thing she is sure about, though, is that she would have “more fun” playing James Bond, herself.
