Singapore stocks opened higher on Friday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) rising 6.90 points or 0.16% to 4,362.72 as at 9.25 am.
Market breadth was positive, with 177 gainers outpacing 78 decliners on a trading volume of 276.51 million shares worth S$231.60 million.
Among the active counters, DBS slipped 0.13 points to S$52.44, while UOB was unchanged at S$35.44 and OCBC held at S$16.85. Singtel traded flat at S$4.36, Genting Singapore was unchanged at S$0.765, YZJ Financial Holdings stood at S$1.13, and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was steady at S$3.18.
In the derivatives market, the Nikkei 225 Index Futures for December stood at 44,380.00, while the FTSE China A50 Index Futures for September traded at 15,220.00. The MSCI Singapore Index Futures for September recorded 459.75.
