After months of speculation, Katy Perry is breaking her silence on her romance with Justin Trudeau. Before going public with their burgeoning relationship on her 41st birthday, the “Fireworks” singer and the former Canadian Prime Minister kept things under wraps. However, Perry appeared to hint that things are getting serious as she shared a cheeky response to a fan’s proposal at a concert.
In a video shared on TikTok on Friday, October 31, Perry revealed she had a good reason for rejecting the proposal of a fan in the audience—her boyfriend, whom she was first linked to in July. Wearing an animal print bustier top and a leaf-inspired skirt, the “Dark Horse” singer was filmed seeing a man in the audience holding up a sign asking him to marry her. “This guy is trying to get me to marry him and he has a ring in his hand,” she told the crowd before rejecting his proposal. “No. I am dating someone else for crying out f**king loud,” she added.

It’s been a whirlwind romance for Perry and Trudeau, who were spotted grabbing dinner at Le Violon in Montreal just weeks after the star ended her 9-year-long engagement with Orlando Bloom. The couple kept their relationship under the radar while they figured things out, albeit for a PDA-packed yacht outing in Santa Monica on October 12. Things moved quickly after Perry and Trudeau were spotted making out in California, as they stepped out as a couple on the “Hot N Cold” singer’s birthday in Paris. Perry, who stunned in a plunging red slip dress, could be seen holding the politician’s hand as they headed to a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris.

Just days later, the star soft launched her relationship with Trudeau by giving him a permanent place on her grid. In between photos of her dressed to the nines in her red birthday dress, Perry shared a video of her backstage blowing out the candles on her birthday cake. Trudeau could be seen briefly in the background before the singer threw the cake at a crew member.

Trudeau also showed he’s falling for Perry by sharing a photo of his Halloween costume, which appears to be a subtle nod to the singer’s 2015 Super Bowl Halftime show. The dad-of-three could be seen posing with his son Hadrien, 11, while showing off a shark costume—a seeming nod to the viral “left shark” during Perry’s performance. Trudeau also shares kids Ella-Grace, 16, and Xavier, 18, with ex-wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.
