Carson City Community Radio KNVC 95.1 FM is offering its thanks to the community while sharing in the celebration of its new digs by opening its doors to the public this Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The open house event will take place at the station’s new headquarters in the basement of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St., in Carson City.

There will be signs and volunteers to guide guests to the studio. Guests will get a chance to see the station’s new state-of-the-art studio as well as its new production facilities through docent facility tours . The celebration includes music, art, refreshments, prizes and more.

As part of the open house there will be the grand opening of KNVC’s first artist reception and exhibit in the KNVC Rampway Gallery, Making Silver Sing — A collection dedicated to Northern Nevada singer and songwriters by master photographer, Peter Rezec.

Guests will enjoy the musical stylings of pianist Ryan Rai Steele. There will be appetizers and beverages available and an opportunity to meet the KNVC volunteer staff. KNVC will also have a silent auction and a CD grab bag giveaway.

“It’s all our way of saying ‘thank you’ for your support of our little nonprofit, volunteer driven and listener supported radio station, KNVC Carson City Community Media on the radio at 95.1 FM and KNVC.org for our friends on their phones, tablets, and computers,” said Steve Funk, KNVC general manager.

“The KNVC staff and I want to put out a great big thank you to everyone who has stepped up and supported our community radio station with donations, volunteering or even just telling others about our unique connection with our Carson City Community. Please join us for a good time on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m,” said Funk.
