The Bahrain 8 Hours, the final act of the 2025 FIA WEC, will see the number 51 499P crewed by championship leaders Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi start from seventh place. The sister car, number 50, fielded by the Ferrari – AF Corse team and shared by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, will line up 11th. One position further back will be the number 83 499P entered by private team AF Corse and driven by official Ferrari driver Yifei Ye together with Robert Kubica and Phil Hanson, who lie second in the World Drivers’ standings.
The race, decisive for the world titles, will get underway at 2 p.m. local time on Saturday, 8 November.
Qualifying. In the first timed session, contested on a dry track with air and asphalt temperatures of around 29°C and 34°C respectively, Giovinazzi qualified the number 51 car, stopping the clocks at 1’47”949 – a time worth eighth place, +0”659 off the leaders – securing access to the Hyperpole.
Fuoco’s run with the number 50 499P was more affected by traffic on the track: by just 39 thousandths of a second the Italian driver – whose best lap was 1’48”176 – missed out on the top ten. Fuoco took a spot on the sixth row of the starting grid, as did Robert Kubica, 12th with the number 83 499P. The Pole’s best time was 1’48”186.
Hyperpole. In the decisive session to determine the top ten positions, Antonio Giovinazzi improved on his previous best, completing a lap of the Sakhir circuit in 1’47”726 – 0”900 off pole position, which earned him seventh on the grid.
Programme. The Bahrain 8 Hours, eighth and final round of the World Endurance Championship, will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 8 November.
