Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie just made their first public appearance since their father Andrew was stripped of his royal titles.

Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, were spotted embracing on a street in London’s Mayfair district on Thursday, Nov. 6. The sisters are the only children of Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

The sisters were both dressed in long coats winter coats and hugged in front of a parked car when the picture was taken.

On Friday, Oct. 17, Andrew shocked the world when he announced he will no longer use the title Duke of York amid accusations regarding his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

In a statement, the King’s brother wrote, “In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.”

“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me,” he continued. “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”

Buckingham Palace also confirmed on Thursday, Oct. 30 that King Charles had initiated the process of removing Andrew’s “style, titles and honours.” Along with losing the Duke of York title, this means Andrew will no longer be able to use “prince” and “His Royal Highness.”

“Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor,” the palace stated at the time. “His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” the statement continued. “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

His ex-wife, who was previously known as the Duchess of York, is now known just as Sarah Ferguson. Beatrice and Eugenie will continue to use the title of princess.
