Marvel Studios will begin 2026 with Wonder Man, the highly anticipated TV series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams. Simon is a Hollywood actor thrust into the world of superheroes when he gets powers of his own. As part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event this winter, we’re elated to partner with Marvel Studios and Disney+ to exclusively debut a new image from Wonder Man, showing Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in some trouble with Ben Kingsley. Kinglsey famously made his MCU debut in Iron Man 3 before reprising the role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The exact plot of Wonder Man is being kept under wraps, but the first poster for the film teased which direction the show would take. Simon Williams features on the first poster for Wonder Man on the cover of a magazine, with the headline “Hollywood Experiencing Super Hero Fatigue — Is it time to hang up the cape?” This has been a common conversation the last few years, and it looks like Marvel is going to lean into the concept with some clever commentary with Wonder Man, instead of running away from it.
Wonder Man star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is best known for his role as Black Manta in both of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman movies, and he’s now going to test his mettle in the MCU after the DCEU concluded a few years ago. He also teamed up with Jake Gyllenhaal for Michael Bay’s recent movie, Ambulance, and he’s famous for starring as Cadillac in The Get Down, the teen drama series that ran for two seasons on Netflix between 2016 and 2017.

Marvel will begin the year TV-heavy — after Wonder Man, the studio will next release the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, which is coming in March. The second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is also coming sometime in 2026. Marvel will open the year with its first big blockbuster on July 31, 2026, when Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters everywhere. The film will reportedly feature other heroes like Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. The final project for Marvel in 2026 will be Avengers: Doomsday, the first major event film in the Multiverse Saga.
