A delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) held a meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami today (12 November) to discuss Bangladesh’s sustainable economy and the overall state of its financial sector.

According to a press release issued by the party, the meeting took place at the party’s central office in Dhaka around noon and covered various issues, including the country’s economy, taxation, and social sectors.

The IMF delegation was led by Chris Papageorgiou, adviser to IMF’s Bangladesh mission chief. He was accompanied by Maxym Kryshko, the IMF’s resident representative in Dhaka; Deputy Chief of Mission Ivo Krznar; and economic analyst Towhid Elahi.
