No one mourns the wicked, but everyone has been anticipating Balenciaga designer Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first custom couture offering. The designer has chosen the good witch Ariana Grande to cast a spell over the storied Spanish house’s new artisanal era.
Grande stepped out for a night in Singapore for the premiere of Wicked: For Good, walking the carpet with the rest of the cast including Cynthia Erivo and Michelle Yeoh. Styled by Law Roach, it was a look that fit perfectly into the carefully coiffed, perfectly pink, and sparkle-studded press tour wardrobe that Ariana Grande and Roach have established—but this time, made even more magical.
The strapless, sugary pink gown featured sequins of varying shapes and sizes that created a cinematic shimmer—Grande’s own Glinda-like traveling orbs. With a tucked drop waist and a gathered and pleated back affixed with a bow, the gown continued into a dramatic, long train. As noted by Roach, this is Piccioli’s first custom couture look. Grande also added Swarovski drop earrings and a selection of rings.
The actor and pop star continued to forgo her once super blonde look to wear her now tawny brunette hair in a sleek ballerina bun with wispy ends and tiny, side swept baby bangs by Alyx Liu. A blooming pink blush, glossy rose lip, and doll-like eyeliner was done using Grande’s brand R.E.M beauty by Michael Anthony.
