The OnePlus 15’s global launch is today, but if you’re in the US, you’re going to be waiting a little while longer. Thanks to the (newly-ended) government shutdown, OnePlus is still waiting on its final FCC certification.
According to OnePlus, the lapse in government that began in the US on October 1st (and ended late last night) has resulted in the OnePlus 15 missing its final FCC device certification. Thankfully, this appears to be just the final step — approval of the company’s formal application — rather than a series of unfinished tests, which means a functioning FCC could pick up the pace and approve this phone at any time. Until then, however, the device is being held back in the US, while a simultaneous launch in Canada carries on.

As is the case with every smartphone manufacturer, the United States’ Federal Communications Commission certifies OnePlus devices before they are sold in the U.S. As a result of the government shutdown, device certifications have been delayed. Subsequently, U.S. sales for the OnePlus 15 will be postponed until they have been secured. The OnePlus 15 has already finished all the required tests from the FCC’s recognized labs and the certification application has been formally submitted. We are hopeful that approvals can be generated quickly and as a result, we can bring the OnePlus 15 to our customers in the U.S. expeditiously.
