What begins as an idealistic mission ends in a nightmare in Meat Kills…
“When animal rights activist Mirthe and her group sabotage a pig farm, the farmer’s family strikes back. What follows is an unstoppable chain reaction of violence and revenge.”
Meat Kills premiered at Fantastic Fest 2025, where it earned positive reviews from outlets including Dread Central. The site’s review raved, “Nasty, mean cinema is back, baby.” The review continued, “Meat Kills is a European extreme horror classic in the making, joining the ranks of films like Calvaire, High Tension, and Frontier(s). This is the evolution of European horror, which continues to deliver gnarly societal indictments that are unafraid to make the viewer uncomfortable. Dehumanization is the name of the game in Meat Kills, and it goes deeper than just a statement about animal cruelty; it’s a harrowing examination of human cruelty committed in the name of a self-declared good cause.”
“I don’t think I have ever seen a movie as nihilistic and ugly as Meat Kills,” writes Shade Studios. “The kills are visceral and brutal, with top-notch practical effects. Lots and lots of guts and gore, with an equal amount of tension and scares. I never wanted to take my eyes off the screen… it’s impossible to predict what will come next.”
The cast includes Caro Derkx, Sem Ben Yakar, Sweder de Sitter, Emma Josten, Derron Lurvink, Bart Oomen, Chardonnay Rillen, Juliette van de Weerdt, and Tommy Zonneveld.
Paul de Vrijer wrote Meat Kills, directed by Martijn Smits.

Deathstalker, a reboot of the Roger Corman-produced 1983 sword and sorcery cult classic starring Daniel Bernhardt, is now available on VOD outlets at home from Shout Studios.
Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman, The Void) wrote and directed Deathstalker.
In the film, the Kingdom of Abraxeon is under siege by the Dreadites, heralds of the long-dead sorcerer Nekromemnon. When Deathstalker recovers a cursed amulet from a corpse-strewn battlefield, he’s marked by dark magick and hunted by monstrous assassins. To survive, he must break the curse and face the rising evil.
The cast also includes Christina Orjalo, Paul Lazenby, Nicholas Rice, Nina Bergman, and Patton Oswalt as the voice of the benevolent wizard Doodad.
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is an executive producer on the project and collaborated with composer Bear McCreary (“The Walking Dead”) on the film’s theme song.

Tina Romero made her feature directorial debut with horror-comedy Queens of the Dead, and fresh out of theaters, the “big gay zombie movie” (Tina’s words) is now available at home.
Tina Romero is the daughter of the late horror master George A. Romero, who was of course also the father of the modern day zombie movie as we know it. In Queens of the Dead, which hit theaters for Halloween, Tina Romero puts her own fresh spin on her dad’s iconic creation.
In Queens of the Dead, “a zombie apocalypse breaks out in Brooklyn on the night of a giant warehouse party, where an eclectic group of drag queens, club kids, and frenemies must put aside their drama and use their unique skills to fight against the brain-thirsty undead.”
Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), Margaret Cho (Fire Island), Jack Haven (I Saw The TV Glow) and Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story) star. The cast also includes Nina West (Drag Race), Jaquel Spivey (Mean Girls), Tomas Matos (Fire Island), Quincy Dunn-Baker (No Hard Feelings), Becca Blackwell (Bros), Shaunette Renée Wilson (Black Panther), Dominique Jackson (Pose), Riki Lindhome (Knives Out), and Eve Lindley (Bros).

Practical effects-heavy werewolf movie Frenzy Moon is now available on VOD.
Gregory Lamberson (Slime City) wrote and directed the indie werewolf flick.
“Six grad students spending a weekend in a remote cabin are forced to take in a mysterious hunter. Awakened by howling, the hunter warns them they are in danger from werewolves. They attempt to flee, but wolflike creatures savagely kill one of them and wound another.
“Trapped in the cabin, they must fend off a siege by an entire pack of monsters.”

A dark new trip from director Osgood Perkins (Longlegs, The Monkey), the unnerving fairy tale nightmare Keeper is now playing in theaters nationwide from NEON.
The horror movie follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm suddenly returns to the city, Liz finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.
Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) and Rossif Sutherland (Possessor) star.
Nick Lepard (Dangerous Animals) wrote the screenplay.
Perkins is already in production on his next film, The Young People, for a planned 2026 release.

From Magnolia Pictures and director Lotfy Nathan, The Carpenter’s Son is now playing in select theaters. The horror film is described as “a meticulously crafted, genre-bending supernatural thriller packed with unshakeable images of the divine and demonic at war.”
Nicolas Cage stars alongside FKA twigs and Noah Jupe.
Inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, the film tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt. Here’s the brand new official plot synopsis:
“A remote village in Roman-era Egypt explodes into spiritual warfare when a carpenter, his wife and their child are targeted by supernatural forces.
“Joseph (Nicolas Cage), Mary (FKA twigs) and their teenage son Jesus (Noah Jupe) have lived for years under threat, clinging to their faith and traditions. But a stopover in a small settlement unleashes growing chaos when a mysterious stranger (Isla Johnston) tries to entice young Jesus to abandon his devout father’s rules.
“With every pull of temptation, the boy is lured into a forbidden world, as a terrified Joseph realizes that a demonic power is at work. Violent, unnatural events inexplicably follow Jesus, and he begins to experience nightmarish visions of the future. Finally, he learns the fearsome truth about his new playmate, as well as the child’s real name: Satan.”

Lynchian surrealism meets Turkish culture in The Things You Kill, and the Turkish-language psychological thriller is now playing in select theaters via Cineverse and Fandor.
The film won the Directing Award in World Cinema Dramatic at the Sundance Film Festival and was selected as Canada’s submission for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Oscars.
The Things You Kill will be playing at iPic Fulton Market on Fulton Street in New York City on November 14 and November 15, and you can grab your tickets right now.
In the film, “Haunted by the suspicious death of his ailing mother, a university professor coerces his enigmatic gardener to execute a cold-blooded act of vengeance.”
An international co-production between Canada, Turkey, Poland, and France, The Things You Kill is written and directed by Toronto-based filmmaker Alireza Khatami.
Ekin Koç, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, Hazar Ergüçlü, Ercan Kesal, Güliz Sirinyan, Aysan Sümercan, and Serhat Nalbantoglu star in The Things You Kill.
The Things You Kill currently has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
