The General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported that since Friday morning it has been receiving distress calls from displaced families in camps and shelter centers across several areas of the Gaza Strip, after their tents were damaged and flooded due to the rainfall affecting the Palestinian territories.اضافة اعلان

In a press statement, the Directorate indicated that the flooding of tents was concentrated in Gaza Governorate in the areas of Al-Nafaq, Al-Daraj, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Zaytoun, and Al-Shati Camp; in the central governorate in Al-Baraka and Al-Bassa in Deir al-Balah; around the Islamic Bank on Salah al-Din Street west of Al-Bureij Camp; as well as in several displacement camps near the Nuseirat market area.

The Directorate urged the international humanitarian community—especially the parties sponsoring the ceasefire agreement in Gaza—to address the suffering of nearly half a million families displaced by the Israeli assault and currently living in camps and shelter centers under extremely dire humanitarian conditions. It called for the urgent entry of housing units, caravans, and tents to assist these displaced families and alleviate their hardship, particularly as the winter season has just begun.
