This week on Dezeen, we reported on satellite photography of worker housing that has been built alongside Neom’s major construction sites.
Taken from Google Maps, the imagery revealed repetitive housing blocks for some of the project’s 140,000 workers.

Issey Miyake and Apple unveiled the 3D-knitted iPhone Pocket
In design news, fashion brand Issey Miyake teamed up with Apple to launch the iPhone Pocket, a wearable smartphone carrier designed to hold any iPhone.
Each sling is made of a single, continuous piece of 3D-knitted yarn and features an expandable form that can hold phones alongside other small everyday items.
On the heels of Nike unveiling its first neuroscience-based footwear, we also looked at nine times that the sportswear giant tried to revolutionise footwear.
Herzog & de Meuron and PBDW Architects completed the renovation of Marcel Breuer’s brutalist 945 Madison Avenue
In architecture news, Swiss studio Herzog & de Meuron completed its renovation of Marcel Breuer’s brutalist 945 Madison Avenue into Sotheby’s Manhattan headquarters.
Completed in collaboration with local studio PBDW Architects, the renovation included the removal of former office space to restore gallery floor plans to Breuer’s original designs.
This week also saw the Swiss studio unveil its bubbly glass trophies for the Art Basel Awards, for which it aimed to capture the shape of breath in glass.
Kate Forbes and Ilana Blumberg renewed Adrien Brody’s grey sweater from The BrutalistÂ
In other news, costume designer Kate Forbes collaborated with knitwear designer Ilana Blumberg to recreate the grey sweater worn by Adrien Brody in The Brutalist film for fans to purchase.
The grey-toned sweater was adapted to appeal to a contemporary audience and features a deeper rib cuff and longer sleeve length than the original vintage piece.
A wellness retreat in Indonesia was among this week’s most popular projects
Popular projects on Dezeen this week included a wellness retreat in Indonesia modelled on sea creatures, an “ephemeral” retail concept lab in New York and a former slaughterhouse converted into a “modern industrial village” in Nashville.
