Last Wednesday, shortly after 11:30 AM, a small convoy of cars with diplomatic license plates entered through the main gate of Nahal Oz, the closest kibbutz to the border with Gaza. Nahal Oz was home to 450 people, including my family, before the October 7 attack; 16 residents were murdered on that horrid day, and eight were taken hostage by Hamas. Today, two years later, now that the war is officially over, approximately 45 percent of the community is back living on the kibbutz.
