Asif Ali’s ‘Sarkeet’ released in theatres on May 8, 2025, and earned attention for its sensitive theme and strong performances. Directed by Thamar, the film blends the struggles of two very different lives in the Gulf.
One of them is Jakku, a young boy with ADHD, played convincingly by Orhan Hyder. His parents, portrayed by Deepak Parambol and Divya Prabha, try to raise him with care even as society struggles to accept him. The other is Amir, brought to life by Asif Ali, a man desperately seeking work abroad.
Their worlds collide through a chance encounter that lasts just one night but alters the course of both their lives. With its honest treatment of family, resilience, and human connection, ‘Sarkeet’ struck an emotional chord with audiences.
After its run in cinemas, the film is now set to premiere on ManoramaMAX on September 26, 2025. The platform confirmed the release through its official announcement.
