While fans eagerly await any piece of news regarding Solo Leveling season 3, a new show based on the hit series dropped a trailer that has fans hyped. Solo Leveling had previously announced an Ice Show taking place in Korea, and though that move might have confused some, it’s hard to argue with the results shown in the show’s first trailer.

Posted to the Iceshow X account was a new trailer for the hotly anticipated Solo Leveling On Ice musical. The trailer showcases some of the show’s impressive music and ice-skating work, proving that Solo Leveling on ice will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The show is expected to run from December 24th to December 31st and will be shown at the Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul. K-pop star and iKon member Jay will play Sung Jinwoo himself, so it will be interesting to see how his more musical version of Jinwoo compares to the one fans know from the manhwa and anime.

Solo Leveling’s New Ice Show Is Proof Positive That The Franchise Has Never Been Bigger

While many fans might be ambivalent toward the notion of Solo Leveling on Ice, especially considering it will be difficult for many to view it unless a video of the performance is released on streaming, the ice show is further evidence of the franchise’s elevated status.

Solo Leveling’s anime broke multiple streaming records on Crunchyroll, ensuring that fan demand for the series’ third season is ridiculously high. Unfortunately, studio A-1 Pictures has mostly been silent on the status of season 3, and there is speculation that fans might have to wait until 2028 to see the continued adventures of Sung Jinwoo.

Helping matters, however, is the litany of projects announced in the wake of Solo Leveling season 2’s monstrous performance. A Solo Leveling live-action series was announced at Netflix, while the Solo Leveling: Karma game was released for PC and mobile devices.

In this light, a Solo Leveling ice show might not seem like a big deal, but it could be more important than some initially think.

Solo Leveling’s Ice Show Is a Great Sign For the Series’ Future

Live adaptations of anime, manga, and manhwa properties like Solo Leveling are exceptionally rare. In Japan, only mega-hits like Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke get the honor of being adapted to the stage.

There is a prestige and honor that comes with getting a live show. That’s especially evident of Solo Leveling on Ice, as not only is it a live adaptation of Solo Leveling’s story, it is also a musical and a stunt-filled ice show. The physical difficulty of putting something like this on can’t be ignored.

Given all this, Solo Leveling on Ice is just another example of the franchise’s elevated status, both in South Korea and abroad. If the series is already getting an ice show, then things like a movie are almost certainly not far off.
