Alan Ritchson is doubling down on the hype for Reacher Season 4. While Prime Video hasn’t announced a release date, the star is already calling the upcoming installment “the best season we’ve had yet” — and hinting at one massive change that fans are sure to notice. In a recent interview (via CBR), Ritchson revealed that Season 4 is unlike anything the series has attempted before. Based on Lee Child’s 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, the new season sees Jack Reacher caught up in a deadly mystery on the streets of New York City.

“It’s a gauntlet. I mean, it’s just a labyrinth of fights. We shot 11 fights in the first four weeks, and we’ve never shot anything close to that pace. Everywhere Reacher turns, he’s got another group on his heels. It’s fun, wild, and nonstop, and we haven’t done anything like it yet.”

The actor admitted that by the end of most shooting days, he’s covered in both fake and real blood. “Usually, by the end of the day, it’s a sweet mixture of both fake and real blood. I don’t think I have any real blood today, which is rare.” Ritchson has previously teased that Season 4 will feature “the best fight ever” in the series, and now it seems the entire season will be cranked up to that level.

‘Reacher’ Keeps Getting Better

Season 3 was widely praised by fans for balancing Reacher’s relentless action with a satisfying mystery. For Ritchson, it marked a turning point in the show’s evolution. “If you follow the other seasons, you know that they’ve gotten progressively better, more interesting,” he explained. “Season 3, I think, was especially well received. I thoroughly enjoyed the way we put that together, and the mystery and the reveals. It was true to Reacher, and it was him at his best so far.” With Season 4, though, he believes the show is leveling up even further:

“So, with that in mind, I say this with confidence: We’re somehow upping the stakes quite a bit. This is going to be the best season we’ve had yet. And definitely the bloodiest.”

Reacher’s first three seasons (based on Killing Floor, Bad Luck & Trouble, and Persuader) are nowstreaming on Prime Video. Season 4 is currently filming and does not yet have a release date. Stay tuned to Collider for all the latest updates on Reacher.
