The Adelaide Strikers end the year with a bang, cruising to a seven-wicket victory over the Brisbane Heat at Adelaide Oval.
A solid team effort with the ball and in the field set the foundations for the win as they bowled the Heat out for 121.
Chris Lynn dominated with the bat, smoking 79 off 41 deliveries to ease the Strikers home.
Early breakthroughs from Liam Scott, Luke Wood and Jamie Overton left the Heat reeling at 3/17, only getting worse as they fell to 5/21.
A spectacular run out from Chris Lynn epitomised the Strikers’ brilliant fielding performance. Overton led the bowling attack, ending his magnificent bowling spell with figures of 3/19, while Scott and Hassan Ali picked up two each.

With wickets consistently falling throughout the innings, the Heat set the Strikers a modest 122 runs to win.
Lynn and Matt Short got the Strikers off to a solid start with the bat. Lynn brought up both his 4000th BBL run and 1000th run for the Adelaide Strikers early in the innings as he launched a barrage of sixes into the stands.
Despite losing a few wickets, the Strikers looked in complete control throughout. Lynn finished unbeaten as a gorgeous Scott cover drive brought up the winning runs with 35 balls to spare.
Tim Paine’s side will have a chance to build on this solid win when they travel to Perth to take on the Scorchers in the New Year.
