COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2026 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team was announced today by USA Hockey, with Cayla Barnes, Hannah Bilka and Joy Dunne representing Ohio State women’s hockey in the XXV Winter Olympiad.
 
Barnes will play in her third Olympic Games for Team USA after helping the team win gold in 2018 and silver in 2022. Bilka and Dunne are set to make their Olympic debuts this year in Italy.
 
Ohio State is one of four collegiate teams with current student-athletes on the 23-player roster.
 
Barnes and Bilka played their fifth years for the Buckeyes during the 2023-24 national championship season. Bilka led the team with 48 points. She recorded 22 goals, 26 assists and a team-high four power play goals and nine points on the power play. Barnes earned All-America honors and finished the season with a team-high +71 on ice rating and had 62 blocked shots. She added 36 points on 11 goals and 25 assists from the blue line and was a Frozen Four All-Tournament Team member. The duo also earned First Team All-WCHA honors.
 
Dunne, a two-time World Championships team member with Team USA, is an alternate captain for the Buckeyes this season and leads the team in goals (17) and is second in points (30). Her collegiate career accolades include being named a Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Top 10 finalist in 2025, WCHA and HCA Rookie of the Year awards in 2024 and a two-time Frozen Four All-Tournament Team member.
 
Ohio State Women’s Hockey at the Olympics
The Ohio State women’s hockey team has had a representative at every Olympic Games since women’s ice hockey became an Olympic sport in 1998. Since then, 11 Buckeyes have made a total of 21 appearances at the Olympics through the games in 2022.
 
Women’s Ice Hockey at the XXV Olympiad
The Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 hold its opening ceremonies Feb. 6. Women’s ice hockey will be contested Feb. 5-19 at the Milano Rho Ice Hockey Arena and Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan. Preliminary rounds will be held Feb. 5-10 before quarterfinal playoffs and semifinals are contested Feb. 13-14 and Feb. 16, respectively. Medal games will be contested Feb. 19.
