DC Studios is working on its new Wonder Woman movie, as the DC Universe will feature Diana Prince in James Gunn’s superhero reboot. The DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” is already underway, but one of the biggest roles in the franchise will be the beloved Amazon heroine, as many actors have shared how they would like to play her.

Someone who is also looking to play Wonder Woman in the DCU is Frida Gustavsson, as the Vikings: Valhalla star recently showed her interest in the major superhero role. @Diana_Prince41 had recently asked the Swedish actor to like the following comment: “Like this comment if you’re interested in playing Wonder Woman😁” which she did, as seen below:

While DC Studios hasn’t made any comments on Wonder Woman casting, the actor played Freydís Eiríksdóttir in Vikings: Valhalla for three seasons. The liked comment from Gustavsson quickly sparked a lot of excitement from other audience members.

Diana was last played by Gal Gadot in the DCEU movie timeline, as she brought the character to life in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, before starring in her own Wonder Woman film in 2017. Outside of Wonder Woman 1984, Gadot also had cameos in some of the final DCEU installments before the franchise ended in 2023.

The DCU’s Wonder Woman movie may not have a director yet, but it officially has a writer attached. Supergirl’s Ana Nogueira, who was also hired to pen a script for a live-action Teen Titans film for DC Studios, is writing the screenplay for Diana’s reboot.

A director will be hired once the script is finished, as DC Studios doesn’t greenlight projects until there is a finalized creative vision for said project. But following the success of 2025’s Superman, Wonder Woman is one of the big priorities for the DCU.

DC Studios’ Wonder Woman has yet to get a release date.
