Multiple fire crews have been battling a fire that broke out at the GrainCorp storage facility near Shepparton.
A Country Fire Authority (CFA) spokesperson told the ABC the blaze at Numurkah, in Victoria’s north, was under control, however there had been “a potential for explosions” and “significant risk”.
Fire Rescue Victoria and CFA crews were called just before 5am to the fire, which was believed to have started on machinery in a shed.
The CFA said investigations would continue through the day, and crews were undergoing overhaul procedures.
Vic Emergency warnings were sent in the early hours, warning the community to be on the lookout for smoke.
