Sophie Turner doesn’t have time for anything serious at the moment.
Two months after multiple outlets reported that the Game of Thrones actress was casually seeing Chris Martin, she insinuated she was single in rare comments about her dating life.
“I haven’t seen my friends or gone on a date in weeks, months!” she told Net-A-Porter in published Jan. 5. “I just sack off parts of my life sometimes. I only have the capacity for work and family right now. But I’m working on it. I’ll get there.”
Indeed, Sophie—who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with ex Joe Jonas—pushed back on the “fish bowl” that comes with being the spotlight, especially after her 2023 breakup with the Jonas Brothers singer.
“People take so much as fact these days,” she explained. “Any article that comes out, people go, ‘Right, that must have happened.’ You feel like you’re gagged because silence is always the way to let something die out. But it means that you can’t stand up for yourself ever, so there’s a feeling of helplessness and shame.”

And when the reported stories are true, Sophie—who most recently dated Peregrine Pearson—lamented on how it affects her dynamic with close family and friends.
“I get calls from my mum going, ‘Oh my God, darling, I didn’t know this happened,’” she continued. “And I’m like, ‘It might have happened, but I wasn’t ready to tell you, let alone the world…’ You just don’t have the narrative over your own story.”
For Chris’ part, he has been similarly thrust into the spotlight where his dating life is concerned following his breakup from Dakota Johnson in June after nearly eight years together.

Neither Chris—who shares kids Apple, 21, and Moses, 19, with ex Gwyneth Paltrow—have addressed their breakup, but Dakota confirmed she was on the market after joking to Today about what she looks for in a potential partner while promoting The Materialists in June, saying, “Just like, not an a–hole.”

Ready to embrace a new year with a new lease on life, Sophie declared in January 2024 that the previous year was “the year of girlies,” adding that the forecast for the year ahead instead “is looking fairly consistent.”

“I’m unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children,” she told British Vogue in May 2024. “They’re the victims in all of this. But I think we’re doing the best we can. I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that’s all that I can ask for.”

Joe later shared that he and Sophie have become friendly, developing a “beautiful co-parenting relationship” for their daughters.
“As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them,” the Jonas Brothers singer during a May 2025 appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose Live Tour in Hollywood, Fla. “Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.”
