WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Coming off a hard fought first ACC win of the season, the Wake Forest men’s basketball team will host Miami on Wednesday at LJVM Coliseum.

Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will air nationwide on ESPNU.

Last Time Out

Behind a clutch performance from senior guard Nate Calmese, which included the go-ahead three-pointer with 6.5 seconds left, the Demon Deacons defeated Virginia Tech (12-3, 1-1 ACC) 81-78 on Saturday afternoon.

The Gilbert, Ariz., native finished the game with a season-high 25 points while shooting 9-of-18 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range. Calmese also led the Demon Deacons with seven assists to go along with three rebounds and a steal.

Sophomore guard Juke Harris recorded 15 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Meanwhile, senior forward Tre’Von Spillers totaled 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, as well as five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.

Junior forward Cooper Schwieger tallied a season-high eight points while connecting on both of his three-point attempts. The Overland Park, Kan., native also added five rebounds, including a team-high three offensive rebounds, and an assist against the Hokies.

Defensively, the Demon Deacons forced Virginia Tech into a season-high 19 turnovers, including 14 in the first half, leading to 19 points off turnovers and 15 fastbreak points.

Defend Home Court

Wake Forest men’s basketball has built one of college basketball’s premier home court advantages over the last five seasons, as the Demon Deacons have collected a 69-12 record at LJVM Coliseum since 2021—tied for the fourth-most home wins nationally over that period.

Thirty of those home victories have come in ACC action, the third-most in the conference during that span.

Continued Point Production
Sophomore guard Juke Harris continues to pace the Demon Deacons in scoring this season, as he’s reached a double-digit scoring total in all 15 games while ranking sixth in the ACC in points per game (19.4).

After averaging 6.1 points per game as a freshman, Harris’ 13.3 points per game this year ranks as the fourth-highest increase year-over-year in the nation.

Additionally, Harris is one of only four ACC players – and one of just 13 nationally – averaging 19 points and 6 rebounds per game this season, joining Duke’s Cameron Boozer, Miami’s Malik Reneau and North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson.
