A month ago was the start of the live performance stage on the musical talent show “المايك إلك” (“Al-Mayk Ilak,” “The Mic is Yours”), which airs on Makan 33 – the Kan public broadcaster’s Arab-language channel. Dozens of people came to the studio to watch the participants from up close. It’s not every day that a TV program created for the Arab audience combines a festive atmosphere with anticipation: Which of the participants will continue on to the finals, and who will go home?
