There’s a twist coming up in Coronation Street’s grooming plot
Coronation Street‘s grooming plot is set to take a horrific turn with a shock pregnancy test.
Megan Walsh, played by newcomer Beth Nixon, has been at the centre of a harrowing storyline that has seen her navigate a sexual relationship with her student Will Driscoll whilst finding a partner in Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), whom she parades in public as a cover-up for her illicit affair with the teenager.
There’s a twist coming up in which Megan feels the need to buy a pregnancy test, but, of course things go from bad to worse as soon as she does so.

Megan has found a cover-up boyfriend in Daniel
Megan heads out of the shop, with something hidden in her bag and is confronted by an angry Will who wants to know if she stayed at Daniel’s flat. He’s already not in the best of moods having seen just how Megan’s relationship with Daniel is blossoming as he spots them going to get a birthday cake for Daniel’s son Bertie.
There’s a surprise in store at the birthday party over at number one when Alya tells Bertie to get the cake candles out of her bag but he accidentally goes in Megan’s bag and pulls out a pregnancy test! How will she explain?
By the end of the week, Megan’s situation still isn’t looking any brighter. Leanne and Eva find the teacher sobbing in Victoria Garden, but just what will she tell them? Daniel and Megan then head out to the Bistro, where he admits that he’s falling in love with her.
Secrets will be revealed at Bertie’s birthday party
There’s so signs of the drama for Megan ending anytime soon, as actress Beth recently signed a new contract. Speaking about landing the role, Beth said: “Earlier this year, my agent sent me a casting brief and explained it was for a paedophile, which is a bit crazy to play because they’re obviously not a redeemable character, so they can push it pretty far.”
Later in the week, Eva and Leanne rush to comfort Megan when they find her sobbing in Victoria Garden
Beth also spoke about raising awareness of the subject matter, which is sometimes glamourised in society. She said: “It creates a lot of debate, because a lot of people say, ‘It’s a 15-year-old boy’s dream’ but, if you flip it the other way round, it’s always seen as disgusting.
“If it’s a storyline that makes one person recognise that this is happening to them and it’s wrong, then it has done its job.”
